You’ve probably heard of dynamics used in terms of playing softly and loudly? Well this has the same effect but is a bit different. We are creating dynamics by either thinning out, or building up our chords to create either a stripped back simplicity (that seems quiet) or a dense complexity that sounds like it is louder because it is fuller. This technique will bring even more diversity to your playing.
